Developing an iOS App
iOS Development
Never would I have thought I would actually try and build an iOS app. Why? Because I never really wanted to learn Swift or React Native, but with Claude Code and Codex it's been an experience. I'd even venture to say an enjoyable experience!
Why build an app
Well first I really wanted to challenge myself to build something different, outside of of my typical web dev (I still have to finish up AFK Labs, just need more cash for GPU compute). And I thought, what better than an iOS app! The thing is, sometimes I lack ideas, and in this case, I was lacking. That was until I remember I wanted to get back into working out.
Idea Process
Since it was my first time building an app, I didn;t want to build something outside of the scope of possibility, and since I wanted to get back into working out, I decided to make a better version of Strong. Why Strong? I really loved the app, but don't really want to bother paying the subscription fee. And since I'm already using AI tooling, why not build my own version, and this one with enchancements.
Going forward
I'm still pretty nuch at the start of my journey of building the app, fixing kinks in the logic, messing around the UI and thinking of ways to expand it. I'm actually pretty excited to see how it's going to end up. I feel like a could make a few dollars of this idea, especially with content creation (👀👀), but we'll see. For sure though I do want to finish this app and publish it. I really do thik there is useful utility in it.
